Hotel El Icaco is accessible by boat from either La Pavona or Moín. La Pavona is the most common access point, approximately 2.5 hours by car from San José, followed by a 45-minute to 2-hour boat ride, depending on water levels. Boats from La Pavona typically cost around $3 per person, plus $2 per bag. Alternatively, boats from Moín take approximately 3.5-4 hours and cost around $35 per person. From the Tortuguero dock, Hotel El Icaco is a short walk.
