Car
If you're driving from Puerto Viejo, take Route 36 (Costanera Sur) northwest towards Limón. After approximately 40 km, merge onto Route 32 towards Guácimo. Continue for about 25 km until you reach the town of Guácimo. From Guácimo, look for signs to Unnamed Road. Turn onto Unnamed Road and follow it for about 5 km. The Caribbean Botanical Garden will be on your left. Ensure you have cash for the entrance fee, which may vary.

To reach the Caribbean Botanical Garden using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Puerto Viejo to Limón. Buses leave regularly and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Limón, transfer to a bus heading towards Guácimo. This leg of the trip will take about 30 minutes. After reaching Guácimo, you can either walk or take a taxi to Unnamed Road, which is about 5 km from the town center. Make sure to have some colones for the bus fares and possibly for the taxi.
