  • Walking

    The main entrance to the City Walls is near Pile Gate, the primary entry point to Dubrovnik's Old Town. From Pile Gate, walk along Stradun (the main street) towards the Old Town. The entrance to the walls will be on your left, near the beginning of Stradun. Follow the signs for City Walls. Be prepared for stairs. Alternatively, you can enter at Ploče Gate on the eastern end of the Old Town, which tends to be less crowded. A third entrance is located near the Maritime Museum.

    If arriving by bus from other parts of Dubrovnik, such as Lapad or Babin Kuk, take bus lines 1A, 1B, 3, 4, or 6 to Pile Gate. From the Dubrovnik Port in Gruž, take bus lines 1A, 1B, or 3 to Pile Gate. From Pile Gate, walk towards the Old Town. The entrance to the walls will be on your left, near the beginning of Stradun. Follow the signs for City Walls. A single bus ticket costs approximately €1.73 if purchased at a newsstand or €1.99 if purchased on the bus. The bus ride from the Port to Pile Gate takes around 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic.

    Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Bolt are readily available throughout Dubrovnik. A taxi ride from Dubrovnik Port (Gruž) to Pile Gate, the main entrance to the Old Town, typically costs between €10 and €15 and takes approximately 7-10 minutes, depending on traffic.
