Ploče Gate, or Vrata od Ploča, is the eastern entrance to Dubrovnik's Old Town, dating back to the 14th century. Once a key defensive point with a drawbridge, it now welcomes visitors to the historic Stradun.

Walking
From the Ploče bus stop, walk towards the Old Town. Pass through the outer gate and over the stone bridge that once was a wooden drawbridge. The Ploče Gate is the eastern entrance to Stradun.
Public Transport
Take a bus that stops near the Cable Car station, which is a short walk to the Ploče Gate. Buses 4, 8, 10, 3A, and 17 are options. From the bus station, walk towards the Old Town, passing the Dominican Monastery. Cross the bridge to enter the gate. A one-hour bus ticket costs approximately 15 Kuna if purchased on the bus or 12 Kuna at a newsstand.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Ask your taxi or ride-share driver to drop you off as close to the Ploče Gate as possible, as the Old Town is a pedestrian zone. Taxi ranks are available near the gate. Be aware that Uber and Bolt operate in Dubrovnik. A taxi fare from the airport to the Old Town typically ranges from €30 to €40. From the drop-off point, it's a short walk to the gate.
