From there, head north on Calle 12 de Julio until you reach the intersection with Avenida Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó. Turn right onto Avenida Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó and continue straight. You will see the ocean on your left side as you walk along the avenue. After about 10 to 15 minutes of walking, you will arrive at Malecón de Puerto Plata, which is a beautiful seaside promenade.     From the main square, Parque Independencia, you can take a local guagua (minibus) heading towards the coast.
