From the center of Mekele, head north on Abiy Addi Road. Walk for about 20 minutes until you reach the intersection with Gheralta Road. Turn left onto Gheralta Road and continue walking for approximately 30 minutes. You will start to see signs directing you towards Megab. Keep walking straight, and after a total of about 50 minutes from the city center, you will arrive at the village of Megab. The Abune Yemata Church is located a short walk from the main road in Megab.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Mekele. Start your ride heading north on Abiy Addi Road. After about 15 minutes, turn left onto Gheralta Road. Continue cycling for about 30-40 minutes; the road is generally flat and easy to navigate. Look for signs that point towards Megab. Once you arrive in Megab, you will need to park your bicycle and walk a short distance to reach Abune Yemata Church.
