Getting There

  • Driving

    From Vágar Airport, drive west on Route 22 towards Sørvágur. In Sørvágur, follow Route 45 towards Gásadalur. Drive through the one-lane Gásadalstunnilin tunnel (free of charge) to reach the village. Parking is available near the village entrance. Be mindful of sheep on the road. Note: The Vágatunnilin tunnel connecting the airport to the main islands requires a toll of 100 DKK, payable online or through your rental car company.

  • Public Transport

    From Tórshavn, take bus 300 to Sørvágur. Transfer to bus 350, which will take you to Gásadalur. The bus journey from Sørvágur to Gásadalur takes approximately 7 minutes. A single bus fare within the region costs approximately 20 DKK. Alternatively, consider a multi-day travel card for 500 DKK for 4 days.

  • Taxi

    From Vágar Airport, a taxi to Gásadalur costs approximately $35. Pre-booking is recommended by calling +298 666666. The journey takes around 20 minutes. Note that taxis are not always readily available, especially outside of peak season.
