Car
Oulanka National Park is accessible by car, with well-maintained roads leading to various trailheads. From Kuusamo, drive north on Route 5 (E63), then follow signs for Oulanka National Park. The drive takes approximately 40 minutes. Parking is available at the Oulanka Visitor Centre and other trailheads. Parking is free, but can be congested during peak seasons. Overnight stays in camper vans are permitted from November to January at the Oulanka Visitor Centre parking area.

Public Transport
Public transportation to Oulanka National Park is available by bus from Kuusamo, Ruka, and Salla. The "Karhunkierros bus" operates seasonally, providing access to trailheads such as Hautajärvi, Ruka, and Juuma. Check the Matkahuolto or Ruka websites for up-to-date timetables. A pre-bookable airport bus connects Kuusamo Airport to various locations, including Ruka and Hautajärvi. Bus tickets from Kuusamo to Ruka cost approximately €7. From Ruka, you can take a taxi or dial-a-ride service to the Oulanka Visitor Centre or Kiutaköngäs.
