Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Koli Nature Centre Ukko, follow the marked trails towards the Mattila farm. The route passes through varied terrain and offers scenic views. Ollila and Turula Farms are located along this route, approximately 2-3 km from the Nature Centre. The walk takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour. A voluntary trail fee can be paid at the Koli Tourist Information Office or the Nature Center Ukko. In summer, the fee is 12€ or more, and in winter, it is 18€ or more.

  • Public Transport

    Take the bus from Joensuu to Ahmovaara (Kolinportti). From Ahmovaara, it is 9 km to Koli National Park. From Ahmovaara, you can take a taxi to Ollila and Turula Farms. A taxi ride from Ahmovaara to the farms will cost approximately 25-35€. Alternatively, during weekdays, a pre-ordered connecting bus can take you closer to Koli village. Check local bus schedules for updated times and availability.

  • Car

    Drive along Ylä-Kolintie (Road 504) towards Koli National Park. Parking is available at designated parking areas near Ukko-Koli. From the parking area, follow the signs towards Mattila farm and Ollila and Turula Farms. Parking is free. However, overnight parking is prohibited. From the parking lot P1 and P2 (Ylä-Kolintie 31, Lieksa), it is a short walk to the farms. Electric car charging points are available at the P1 parking area for a fee.
