Getting There

Walking
From the center of Savonlinna, head towards the Olavinlinna Castle. Walk along the lakeside promenade (Kauppatori) towards the castle. Once you reach the castle, follow the signs for Sulosaari. You will need to cross the bridge that connects to the island. Enjoy the scenic view of the lake and castle as you make your way across. Once you reach Sulosaari, you can explore its beautiful landscapes.

Start at the Savonlinna main bus station. Take bus number 1 or 2 towards the Sulosaari stop. The journey will take approximately 15 minutes. Once you get off at the Sulosaari stop, follow the path that leads to the island. You will find signs directing you to various attractions on the island, as well as walking paths to enjoy the natural surroundings.

Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Savonlinna. Head towards the main road leading out of the city. Follow the signs for Sulosaari, which is approximately a 4 km ride from the city center. The route is mostly flat and offers beautiful views of the lakes along the way. Once you arrive at Sulosaari, park your bicycle and enjoy the natural beauty and walking trails of the island.
