Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from the central area of St. Petersburg Beach, start by heading south on Gulf Boulevard towards the intersection with 75th Avenue. Turn left onto 75th Avenue and continue until you reach the intersection with Park Boulevard. Take a right onto Park Boulevard and continue straight. After about 3 miles, merge onto I-275 S via the ramp to Tampa. Continue on I-275 S for about 5 miles. Take exit 17 towards Pinellas Bayway/FL-682. Follow the signs for Pinellas Bayway and continue for about 2 miles. Turn left onto Pinellas National Wildlife Refuge, which will be on your right. Be aware that parking is free.

    To reach Pinellas National Wildlife Refuge using public transportation, start at your nearest bus stop in St. Petersburg Beach. Take the PSTA Route 18 bus towards the St. Petersburg Transfer Center. At the Transfer Center, transfer to the Route 74 bus heading towards the Pinellas Bayway. Get off at the stop nearest to the refuge, which is the Pinellas Bayway stop. From there, it is approximately a 1-mile walk to the refuge entrance along Pinellas Bayway. Note that bus fares are typically around $2 per ride, so plan accordingly.
