Discover more about Église Saint-Honoré d'Amiens

The Église Saint-Honoré d'Amiens, situated near the heart of the city, holds a unique place in Amiens' history. The original church, built in the mid-19th century, was unfortunately destroyed during the German bombings of May 1940. The current structure, a reconstruction of the church, was built between 1957 and 1961. The design is a slightly modified adaptation of the Pavillon Pontifical from the 1937 International Exposition in Paris. The architects Paul Tournon and Marcel Gogois designed the new church in the Art Deco style. The interior features a square nave flanked by two aisles. A notable feature is the mosaic on the western facade, created by Florence Tournon-Branly, daughter of the architect Paul Tournon and granddaughter of the scientist Édouard Branly. The church also features a statue of the Virgin and Child. The original statue, installed in 1959, was made of reinforced concrete and copper but was replaced in 1995 with a lighter resin replica. Today, Église Saint-Honoré continues to serve as a parish church. Its location near the boulevards and the Faubourg de Beauvais makes it easily accessible to visitors and local residents.
