Car
If you're driving from the main town of Tahiti Iti (Afaahiti), head southeast on Route 3 towards Hitiaa O Te Ra. Continue on this road for approximately 15 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful coastal scenery. As you approach Hitiaa O Te Ra, look for signs indicating Cascade Vaimahuta. Turn left onto the road leading to the waterfall, which is unpaved. Follow this road for about 2 kilometers until you reach the parking area near the waterfall.
Public Transportation
To reach Cascade Vaimahuta via public transportation, take the local bus from Afaahiti to Hitiaa O Te Ra. Buses typically run every hour. Once you arrive in Hitiaa O Te Ra, you will need to walk approximately 2 kilometers along the road towards the waterfall. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing to Cascade Vaimahuta. This option may take longer, so plan accordingly.
Walking
If you're already in Hitiaa O Te Ra, walking to Cascade Vaimahuta is a great option. From the center of Hitiaa O Te Ra, head south on the main road. Follow the signs for Cascade Vaimahuta, which will guide you towards the waterfall. The walk is approximately 2 kilometers and takes about 30-40 minutes. Be prepared for uneven terrain as you get closer to the waterfall.
