Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), exit the station and head towards the main street, Bismarckstraße. Turn left onto Bismarckstraße and walk straight for about 1 kilometer. You'll reach the pedestrian zone. Continue walking until you reach the Marktplatz (Market Square). From Marktplatz, head towards the Philosophenweg (Philosopher's Walk) until you see signs pointing towards the Schloss (Castle). Follow the signs to Schlossplatz, which is located just at the entrance of the castle grounds.

  • Bus

    From the Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof, take bus line 33 towards 'Heidelberg Schloss.' The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Schloss' stop. After getting off, follow the signs to Schlossplatz, which will be a short walk through the castle gardens.

    If you are near the Alte Brücke (Old Bridge), take tram line 5 towards 'Heidelberg Altstadt.' Get off at the 'Heidelberg Altstadt' stop. From there, walk towards the castle, following the signs for Schlossplatz. It is approximately a 15-minute walk uphill.
