Getting There

  • U-Bahn

    If you're near the central area of Munich, take the U-Bahn (subway) line U5 or U6 from any nearby station. For example, if you're at Marienplatz, board the U5 towards Neuperlach Süd or U6 towards Klinikum Großhadern. Travel for just one stop and get off at Odeonsplatz. Once you exit the station, follow the signs leading to the exit that points towards Ludwigstraße. After you exit, walk straight ahead towards the large square where you'll see the beautiful buildings of the Residenz. Max-Joseph-Platz is just a short walk from here, to your right.

  • Tram

    From the central bus station (ZOB), you can take Tram 19 towards St. Martin. Ride for about 10 minutes and get off at the stop called 'Odeonsplatz.' After getting off, walk towards the Residenz and head straight until you see Max-Joseph-Platz on your left. It's a short and pleasant walk, and you'll pass by some lovely historic buildings along the way.

    If you're at the Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take bus number 62 towards Sendlinger Tor. After about 5 stops, get off at 'Odeonsplatz.' From the bus stop, the Residenz is just a few steps away. Head towards the large square, and you will find Max-Joseph-Platz just ahead.
