Getting There

Train
From Athens, head to the Larissa Train Station (Σταθμός Λαρίσης). You can reach Larissa Station by taking the Metro Line 1 (Green Line) to Omonia Station and then transferring to Metro Line 2 (Red Line) to get to Larissa. Once at Larissa Station, purchase a ticket to Kalabaka (Καλπάκι). Trains to Kalabaka usually run several times a day. The journey takes about 4-5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a KTEL bus from the KTEL Kifissou Bus Station (Σταθμός ΚΤΕΛ Κηφισού). Walking (from Kalabaka Station to Meteora)
Once you arrive in Kalabaka, you can easily reach Meteora by walking or taking a taxi. The monasteries are approximately 3-4 kilometers from the train/bus station. Walking will take about 45 minutes to an hour. Follow the main road uphill towards the rock formations, and you'll find signs directing you to the various monasteries.
