Once you arrive at the Platanias bus stop, disembark and head towards the main road (E65). Walk along the road for about 10 minutes until you reach the signs directing you towards the Cave of Saint John the Hermit.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can hike from Platanias to the cave. After disembarking the bus, head towards the Platanias beach area. Follow the coastal path towards Agia Marina. The cave is located on the outskirts of this area. Look for a path leading upwards toward the hills. This walk takes about 45 minutes and offers beautiful views of the coastline.

You can also take a taxi from Chania to the Cave of Saint John the Hermit. Taxis are available at the central bus station or can be hailed on the street. The taxi ride will take about 20 minutes.
