Public Transport
From Heraklion, the most convenient way to reach Knossos Palace is by taking Bus number 2. The bus departs frequently (every 15-20 minutes) from the main bus terminal near Heraklion Port and from the bus station opposite the Archaeological Museum. The journey takes approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. A one-way ticket costs around €1.50 - €2 and can be purchased at kiosks near the terminal or directly from the driver.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Heraklion and offer a quick way to reach Knossos Palace. The journey typically takes 10-15 minutes. Expect to pay between €10 and €20 for a one-way trip from the city center, depending on the time of day and traffic conditions. There are usually taxis available at the Knossos site for the return trip.
Driving
If driving from Heraklion, follow Knossos Avenue (Leoforos Knossou) south. The route is well-signposted. The drive takes approximately 15 minutes. Free parking is available in designated lots near the main entrance. However, parking can be busy during peak season.
