From the center of Heraklion, head to the main bus station located at 1, 1821 Street. Look for the bus that goes to Hersonissos; it will be marked on the display board. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Disembark at the Hersonissos stop. From there, walk towards the main street and follow the signs towards Profitis Ilias, which is about a 15-minute walk uphill. The church is located on a hill, so be prepared for a bit of an incline.

You can take a taxi from anywhere in Heraklion directly to Profitis Ilias. Simply tell the driver 'Profitis Ilias' or show them the address: Hersonissos 700 07. The journey takes around 20 minutes, depending on traffic, and it’s advisable to agree on a fare beforehand if the taxi does not have a meter.

If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk from the city center, you can head east on 25th August Street and continue straight until you reach the coastal road. Follow the coastal road heading towards Hersonissos for about 6 km. Once you reach Hersonissos, ask locals for directions to Profitis Ilias, or follow signs leading uphill toward the church. This option is quite lengthy, so ensure you're prepared for a long walk, ideally taking 1.5 to 2 hours.
