From Heraklion, head to the central bus station, which is located at 1 Karterou Street. You can reach the bus station by walking or taking a local bus. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Malia. The bus ride takes approximately 40 minutes. After arriving in Malia, disembark at the Malia bus station. From the bus station, walk towards the beach by heading south on Dimokratias Street. Continue straight until you reach the coast, where you can find Potamos Beach.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Heraklion to Potamos Beach. Simply ask the taxi driver to take you to Potamos Beach in Malia. The journey will take around 30-35 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.

For the more adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Heraklion. Head towards the coast and follow the road signs leading to Malia. The route is approximately 35km and takes about 2 hours. It's a scenic ride, but be cautious of traffic and stay hydrated. Once you reach Malia, follow the directions to the beach as mentioned above.
