Walking
If you are starting from the Old Town of Rethymno, head towards the seafront promenade. Walk along the promenade towards the east. Continue walking until you reach the Venetian harbor. From there, head east along the coast. You will pass a few small beaches and cafes. Continue straight until you reach Ilingas Beach, which is marked with signs. The walk will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.
Public Bus
From the Rethymno bus station, take the local bus that goes towards the eastern beaches. Confirm with the bus driver that the route includes Ilingas Beach. The bus ride should take around 15-20 minutes. Once you get off, look for the signs pointing to the beach, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Rethymno. Start from the center of town and head towards the seafront. Follow the same route as if you were walking along the promenade. Riding a bike will take you about 10-15 minutes to reach Ilingas Beach. Make sure to follow the bike paths along the promenade for safety.
