Buses to Plakias run regularly throughout the day, so check the schedule for the latest times. The journey takes approximately 40-50 minutes. Upon arrival in Plakias, disembark at the main bus stop.

After arriving in Plakias, head south towards the beach. You will find a marked path leading to Preveli Beach. Follow the path along the coastline, enjoying the scenic views. Continue until you reach a fork; take the path leading you towards the Preveli Monastery. From the monastery, you will find signs directing you to Preveli Bridge. The walking distance from Plakias to Preveli Bridge is approximately 3 kilometers, which takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on your pace.

If walking seems too strenuous, consider taking a taxi from Plakias to Preveli Bridge. Taxis are usually available at the bus stop or you can call one. The taxi ride should take around 10-15 minutes and will drop you off near the bridge. Make sure to confirm the price before starting your journey.

Alternatively, you can take the bus to the nearby village of Foinikas from Rethymno. The bus will drop you off at the main square of Foinikas.
