Located near Finegayan Station on land owned by the U.S. military, this secluded beach is part of the Haputo Ecological Reserve, protecting its coral reefs and limestone forests. The beach itself boasts soft, light golden sand and crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and simply relaxing under the tropical sun. The surrounding limestone cliffs add to the scenic charm, making it a fantastic spot for photography. The waters teem with colorful marine life, offering an accessible snorkeling experience for beginners and families alike. Beyond its natural allure, Haputo Beach is also the site of an ancient Chamorro village. Archaeological evidence, including standing latte stones, rock shelters, and caves, tells the story of Guam's pre-colonial past. The village was once home to Aguarin, a Chamorro warrior chief who led an uprising against the Spanish in 1677. In 1678, Spanish soldiers burned the village. The surviving residents were eventually forced to relocate to Hagåtña in 1680. Access to Haputo Beach is via a hiking trail that descends approximately 100 feet. The trail includes 212 man-made steps, adding a touch of adventure to the journey. The beach's remote location and the somewhat challenging access contribute to its peaceful and uncrowded atmosphere.
