Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from La Ceiba. Head south on the CA-13 highway towards the entrance of Pico Bonito National Park. After approximately 15 kilometers, look for signs leading to the park entrance on your right. Once you enter the park, follow the main road for about 5 kilometers until you reach the visitor center. From the visitor center, continue on the dirt road that branches off to the left. This road will take you deeper into the park. Keep an eye out for signs indicating Corlansey Point; it's approximately 3 kilometers from the visitor center. Parking may be limited, so arrive early.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, take a bus from La Ceiba to the entrance of Pico Bonito National Park. Buses leave frequently from the main bus terminal in La Ceiba. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you can either walk or hire a local taxi to take you the remaining distance to the visitor center, which is about 5 kilometers away. After reaching the visitor center, you can either walk or hire a local guide (recommended) to help you navigate the remaining 3 kilometers to Corlansey Point. Be aware of the additional costs for the taxi and guide.

  • Hiking

    For those who enjoy hiking, after reaching the visitor center, you can hike to Corlansey Point. The trail is well-marked and offers stunning views of the surrounding area. It is about a 3-kilometer hike from the visitor center. Make sure to wear sturdy hiking boots and bring plenty of water. The hike may take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your pace. Note that there is no entrance fee to the park, but donations are appreciated at the visitor center.
