Getting There

Walking
From the center of Borgarnes, head south on Borgarbraut road towards the main bus terminal. Continue walking for about 800 meters until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1, and keep walking straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the bus stop for Reykjavík. Take the bus towards Reykjavík, which will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Reykjavík, follow the signs to the local bus terminal (Strætó). From there, take bus number 14 or 18 towards Hlíðar and get off at the Flókagata stop. The Reykjavík Art Museum Kjarvalsstaðir will be a short walk away from the bus stop.

Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Borgarnes. Start by heading towards the Borgarbraut road and continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach Route 1. Turn left onto Route 1 and cycle for about 15 kilometers. You will reach Reykjavík in approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once in Reykjavík, follow the signs for the local bus terminal. From there, you can take bus number 14 or 18 towards Hlíðar and get off at the Flókagata stop. The museum is just a short walk from the stop.
