Walking
From the center of Hafnarfjordur, head northeast towards Aðalstræti street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Reykjanesbraut (Route 41). Cross the street and follow the pedestrian path that leads you towards the bus stop named 'Hafnarfjörður', where you can catch a bus to Reykjavík. Board the bus heading towards 'Reykjavík' and get off at the stop 'Hlemmur'. From Hlemmur, walk north along Laugavegur street until you reach the intersection with Flókagata. Turn right onto Flókagata and continue walking for about 10 minutes until you arrive at Reykjavík Art Museum Kjarvalsstaðir, located at Flókagata 24.
Public Transport (Bus)
Start at the 'Hafnarfjörður' bus stop located in the town center. Take bus number 1 towards 'Reykjavík' and ride it for approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Hlemmur' bus stop. From Hlemmur, take bus number 14 towards 'Sæbraut' and get off at 'Kjarvalsstaðir'. The museum is a short walk from the bus stop; head south on Flókagata until you reach the museum at number 24.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Hafnarfjordur. Simply tell the driver to take you to 'Flókagata 24, Reykjavík Art Museum Kjarvalsstaðir'. The ride should take about 20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Taxis are available at various points around town or can be booked via phone.
