From Skaftafell, head east on Route 1 (the Ring Road) for approximately 30 kilometers (about 18.6 miles). Look for the signs for Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. As you approach the lagoon, you will see signs directing you to Diamond Beach. Turn left onto the road leading to Diamond Beach Parking 2, which is located just off the main Ring Road. The parking area is clearly marked. Note: There may be a parking fee, so have some cash or a credit card ready.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Skaftafell to Jökulsárlón. The bus service usually operates multiple times a day, but be sure to check the latest schedule.
