Walking
From downtown Boise, start at the intersection of 8th Street and Main Street. Head east on Main Street towards 9th Street. Turn left onto 9th Street and walk north until you reach the intersection with State Street. Cross State Street and continue walking north on 9th Street. After a few blocks, 9th Street becomes N. Old Penitentiary Road. The Idaho Botanical Garden will be on your left at 2355 N Old Penitentiary Rd. The entire walk is approximately 30 minutes, covering around 1.5 miles.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing programs available in downtown Boise. Start at the bike station nearest to you and head east towards 9th Street. Cycle north on 9th Street until you reach State Street. After crossing State Street, continue on 9th Street, which will turn into N Old Penitentiary Road. The Idaho Botanical Garden will be on your left at 2355 N Old Penitentiary Rd. The bike ride will take about 10-15 minutes.

Public Transportation
You can take the ValleyRide bus service to reach the Idaho Botanical Garden. From downtown, board the Route 1 bus heading towards the Boise Airport. Get off at the stop near the intersection of 9th Street and State Street. From there, walk north on 9th Street. After a few blocks, 9th Street becomes N Old Penitentiary Road. The Idaho Botanical Garden will be on your left at 2355 N Old Penitentiary Rd. The bus fare is $1.50 per ride.
