Walking
From downtown Waukegan, head south on Genesee Street towards Washington Street. Turn left onto Washington Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Green Bay Road. At the intersection, turn right onto Green Bay Road and walk for about 1 mile. You will approach a large intersection with Route 176. Continue straight as the road becomes Winchester Road. The Bess Bower Dunn Museum of Lake County will be on your left at 1899 W Winchester Rd. Look for the museum's signage along the road.

Public Transit
From Waukegan Metra Station, take the Metra North Central Service (NCS) train towards Chicago Union Station. Get off at the Libertyville station. From Libertyville station, you can take the Pace bus #570, which heads towards the museum. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as the frequency might vary. The bus will drop you off near the museum on Winchester Road. Walk a short distance to reach the entrance.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Waukegan. Start by heading south on Genesee Street, then turn left onto Washington Street. Continue to Green Bay Road and turn right. Follow Green Bay Road for about a mile, then turn left onto Winchester Road. The museum will be on your left. There are bike racks available at the museum for parking your bike.
