Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the MG Marg area in Gangtok, head towards the main road leading out of the city. Walk towards the Siliguri-Gangtok highway. Once you reach the highway, look for a shared taxi stand. Here, you can catch a shared taxi to Darjeeling. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre. The ride will take approximately 3 hours. After reaching Darjeeling, ask the driver to drop you at Havelock Villa, 119/B, Gandhi Rd. The centre is located a short walk from the taxi drop-off point.

  • Bus

    From MG Marg, locate the Sikkim Nationalised Transport (SNT) bus terminal in Gangtok. Purchase a ticket for Darjeeling. The bus ride takes about 3.5 hours. Upon arriving at Darjeeling's bus station, you can either take a local taxi or walk. For walking, head towards Gandhi Rd, which is about 1.5 km from the bus station. If taking a taxi, ask the driver to take you to Havelock Villa, 119/B, Gandhi Rd. The Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre will be nearby.

    From the MG Marg area in Gangtok, walk to the nearest shared taxi stand. Look for taxis heading to Darjeeling. The journey will take around 3 hours.
