Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the main market area in Leh (known as Leh Main Bazaar). Head west on Fort Road until you reach the junction with the Leh-Khardungla Road. Continue on this road for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the bus stop. From here, you can ask locals for directions to Basgo Castle or take a shared taxi (if available) to Basgo village, which is approximately 40 kilometers away. The shared taxi will drop you off near the entrance of the castle.

    If you prefer to take a shared taxi, find a taxi stand in Leh (near the main market or bus station). There are taxis going to Basgo. Once you board the shared taxi, enjoy the scenic drive along the Indus River. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Basgo, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Basgo Castle, which is located a short walk from the main road.
