Knappogue Castle is located just outside Quin village in County Clare, approximately a 25-minute drive from Shannon Airport, Ennis, and Limerick City. From the N/M18, exit onto the R469, signposted for Quin, and follow the road through the town. The castle is a short distance from the village. Free parking is available on site for cars and coaches.

The nearest bus and train station is located in Ennis. From Ennis, take Bus Éireann route 343 or TFI Local Link bus route 318, both of which stop near the entrance to Knappogue Castle. A limited bus service runs from Shannon Airport to Knappogue, but it is recommended to check the bus times and schedules in advance on the Bus Éireann website. A taxi from Shannon Airport is also an option. Bus Éireann single fares within the area typically cost around €3-€6.
