From Glendalough, head south on the R756 road. Continue for about 4 km until you reach a junction. Take a left onto the R765. Follow the R765 for approximately 2 km, and look for the entrance to Ballinastoe Woods on your right. There is parking available at the trailhead, and it is free of charge.

Public Transportation
From Glendalough, take a bus heading towards Roundwood (check local schedules for service times). Alight at the Ballinastoe stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 km back along the road to reach the entrance of Ballinastoe Woods. Be sure to check the bus schedules ahead of time, as service may be limited, especially on weekends.

If you are feeling adventurous and wish to walk from Glendalough to Ballinastoe Woods, start on the R756 road heading south. After about 4 km, turn left onto the R765. Continue walking for another 2 km until you reach the entrance of Ballinastoe Woods on your right. This is a scenic route, but be prepared for about a 1.5 to 2-hour walk depending on your pace.
