    From Glendalough, head northwest on the R756 road. Continue on this road for about 12 kilometers until you reach the junction with the N81. Turn left onto the N81 and follow it for approximately 18 kilometers. As you approach Dublin, take the exit towards the M50 motorway. Merge onto the M50 and follow signs for the N4 towards the city center. Exit at Junction 7 and follow the signs for R148 towards Dun Laoghaire. After about 8 kilometers, follow the signs for Carlisle Pier, which will be on your left. Make sure to check for parking options around the pier.

    From Glendalough, you can take a bus to Dublin city center. The Glendalough bus service operates to Dublin, and you will want to get off at the main bus terminal. Once in Dublin, transfer to the Luas (light rail) at the O'Connell/Abbey Street stop. Take the Luas towards the south (either the Red or Green line depending on your stop). Get off at the Dun Laoghaire station. From the station, it's a 15-minute walk to Carlisle Pier. Follow the pedestrian signs towards the seafront, and you’ll find the pier along the coast.
