Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Kinsale, head east on Pearse Street towards the river. Continue walking until you reach the Kinsale Marina area. From the marina, follow the coastal path along the river. This will eventually lead you to a small road. Follow this road until you reach the junction with the R600. Cross the road carefully and continue walking on the footpath heading towards Cork. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will see a sign for Curraghbinny on your left. Follow this sign and walk towards the Lough Beg Bird Reserve. The entrance is located about 500 meters down this road. Make sure to check the opening hours before your visit.

  • Public Transport

    From Kinsale, make your way to the nearest bus stop on the R600. Take the Bus Eireann route 226 towards Cork. After approximately 20 minutes, get off at the Curraghbinny stop. Once you disembark, head back along the road for about 500 meters. You will find the Lough Beg Bird Reserve on your right. Ensure to check the bus schedule for return trips to Kinsale.
