From Sligo town center, head towards the Garavogue River. Cross the pedestrian bridge over the river and continue straight on the Riverside Walk. Follow the signs for Queen Maeve's Cairn as you walk along the river. After approximately 4 miles, you will reach the base of Knocknarea Mountain where Queen Maeve's Cairn is located. Follow the marked trail up the mountain to reach the cairn.

Take bus number 64 from Sligo Bus Station towards Strandhill. Get off at the stop near Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery. From there, walk west towards Knocknarea Mountain. Follow the signs for Queen Maeve's Cairn as you walk along the road. After approximately 1.5 miles, you will reach the base of the mountain. Follow the marked trail up the mountain to reach the cairn.
