If you're traveling by car, from any point on the Alta Via 1 trail, navigate to the nearest town with access to the SS49 road. If you are near Dobbiaco, take the SS49 south towards San Candido. After approximately 10 km, take a left onto the SP30 toward Braies. Continue on SP30 for about 12 km until you reach the village of Braies. Follow the signs to Lago di Braies, where you'll find parking available. Note that there may be a parking fee, which typically ranges from €5 to €10 per day.
