If you're starting from the Pompeii Archaeological Park entrance (Piazza Anfiteatro), exit the park and head east on Via Plinio. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Villa dei Misteri. Turn left onto Via Villa dei Misteri and walk for about 500 meters. At the next major intersection, turn right onto Via Dei Vesuvio. The House of the Ara Maxima is located at number 16 on this street. It is a short walk from the park, taking approximately 15 minutes.

From the Pompeii Forum (Centro di Pompei), exit towards Via Stabiana. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Via dell'Abbondanza. Turn left and continue until you hit Via Villa dei Misteri. Turn right and head towards Via Dei Vesuvio. The House of the Ara Maxima will be on your left at number 16. This route takes about 20 minutes.
