If you are driving from Buzen, take Route 10 towards Kitakyushu. After approximately 30 minutes, merge onto Route 3. Continue for about 15 minutes until you reach the Kokura area. Follow the signs for Kokura Castle Garden, which will lead you to 1-2 Jonai, Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that parking may incur a fee, generally around 500 yen for a few hours.

From Buzen, head to the nearest train station and take a train towards Kokura Station. The journey may require a transfer, and it typically takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you arrive at Kokura Station, exit the station and walk about 15 minutes towards the castle garden, following the signs for Kokura Castle and the nearby park areas. This walk is quite pleasant and will take you through parts of the city.

You can take a bus from Buzen to Kitakyushu, which usually takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at the bus terminal in Kitakyushu, transfer to a local bus that goes to Kokura Station. After reaching Kokura Station, it is a 15-minute walk to Kokura Castle Garden. Make sure to check the bus schedules as they may vary, and a bus fare is typically around 600 yen.
