Fukutoku Shrine: A Serene Oasis in the Heart of Tokyo

Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving, start by heading towards Route 6 (E6) from Hitachi. Continue on Route 6 until you reach the intersection with Route 50. Turn onto Route 50 and follow it towards Tokyo. As you approach Chuo City, follow the signs for Nihonbashimuromachi. Once you reach the area, look for parking options nearby as street parking may be limited. The shrine is located at 2 Chome−4−14 and there should be clear signs to guide you to it.

• Train

  Begin your journey by taking the JR Joban Line from Hitachi Station to Ueno Station. This train ride will take approximately 1 hour. From Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and travel to Nihonbashi Station. Once you arrive at Nihonbashi, take Exit A1 and head towards Nihonbashimuromachi. The Fukutoku Shrine is located a short walk from the station at 2 Chome−4−14. Make sure to check train schedules as they may vary throughout the day.

• Bus

  If you prefer to take a bus, start at Hitachi Station and look for local bus services that head towards Tokyo. You can take a bus to Tokyo Station, which typically takes around 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. From Tokyo Station, you can either walk to Nihonbashimuromachi (approximately a 20-minute walk) or take the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line to Tokyo Station, then transfer to the Ginza Line towards Nihonbashi. Once at Nihonbashi, follow the signs to the shrine, located at 2 Chome−4−14.
