Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start by heading to the Chofu area. From central Hitachi, take the Joban Expressway towards Tokyo, and then take the exit for Chofu. Follow the signs for Chofu and continue on Route 20. After approximately 15 kilometers, turn right onto Jindaiji Motomachi. The Jindai Botanical Gardens will be on your left at 5 Chome-31-10 Jindaiji Motomachi. There is parking available near the entrance.

    For those using public transportation, start at Hitachi Station. Take the JR Joban Line train towards Ueno and transfer at Matsudo Station to the Keio Line. Board the train bound for Chofu Station. Once you arrive at Chofu Station, exit the station and catch bus number 34 towards Jindaiji. Get off at the Jindaiji bus stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the Jindai Botanical Gardens, located at 5 Chome-31-10 Jindaiji Motomachi.
