If you are driving from central Hitachi, start by heading south on National Route 6 (Kantō Road) towards Mito. Continue on Route 6 for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Joban Expressway. Take the Joban Expressway southbound (towards Tokyo) and continue for about 60 kilometers. Take the exit for Ibaraki Prefectural Route 5, then follow the signs for Ueno and Asakusa. Once you arrive in Asakusa, look for parking facilities nearby. Note that parking may incur additional costs, typically around 500-1500 yen per hour depending on the location.

Public Transportation (Train)
To reach Toyokan by train from Hitachi Station, board the JR Joban Line bound for Ueno. This journey takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Disembark at Ueno Station. From Ueno, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and take the train towards Asakusa Station. It’s a short ride of about 5 minutes. Once you arrive at Asakusa Station, take the exit towards the Asakusa Culture and Tourism Center. Toyokan is located about a 10-minute walk from the station, at 1 Chome-43-12 Asakusa, Taito City. Be aware that the train fare from Hitachi to Ueno is approximately 1,500 yen, and an additional fare of around 200 yen for the Tokyo Metro ride.

Alternatively, you can take a highway bus from Hitachi to Tokyo. Grab a bus from Hitachi Station's West Exit, which heads toward Tokyo Station.
