Car
If you're traveling by car from Kai to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building South Observatory, start by heading south on Route 20 (Chuo Expressway). Follow the signs for Tokyo and stay on the expressway for about 80 km. As you approach central Tokyo, take the exit toward Shinjuku. Once you exit, follow the signs for Shinjuku City Center. You can park at one of the nearby parking lots such as the Shinjuku Park Tower Parking or the Times Shinjuku 3-chome Parking. The observatory is a short walk from these parking facilities.

Train
To reach the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building South Observatory via public transportation, start at Kai City Station (甲府市駅). Take the JR Chuo Line to Shinjuku Station, which takes approximately 1 hour. Once at Shinjuku Station, follow the signs to the West Exit. From there, walk towards the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, which is about a 10-15 minute walk. The observatory entrance is on the 45th floor of the building. Note that there is no admission fee to access the observatory.

If you prefer to travel by bus, take the highway bus from Kai to Shinjuku Station. The bus ride typically takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival at Shinjuku Station, exit via the West Exit and follow the walking directions to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, which is approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the station. The observatory is free to enter, providing a great view of Tokyo.
