    Getting There

    Public Transport

    From Tobu-Nikkō Station or JR Nikkō Station, take a bus towards Lake Chuzenji and get off at the 'Shinkyo' or 'Nishisando' bus stop. Alternatively, take the World Heritage Meguri loop bus and disembark at the 'Omotesando' stop for Tōshogū. The shrine is then a 5-10 minute walk. The bus fare is approximately ¥320 one way or ¥600 for a day pass.

    From Tobu-Nikkō Station or JR Nikkō Station, it is approximately a 30-40 minute walk to Nikkō Tōshogū. The route involves walking up Nikkō's main street. Be aware that the walk includes a gentle slope.

    A taxi from JR Nikkō Station to Nikkō Tōshogū takes about 4 minutes and costs approximately ¥1600-¥2000.

    Driving
