Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, take the Kinki Expressway and exit at the Asuka IC. From the IC, follow the signs to Route 165. Drive along Route 165 for about 10 minutes, and you will see signs for Oka-dera. The parking lot is available near the entrance of the temple. Please note that parking fees may apply, so prepare some change for the parking meter.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Oka-dera by public transportation, first take a train to Asuka Station on the Kintetsu Line from Nara or other locations in Kinki. From Asuka Station, exit and walk to the bus stop located nearby. Board the Asuka Shuttle Bus (Asuka no Mura) which goes towards Oka-dera. The bus operates regularly, but check the schedule in advance as it may vary. Get off at the Oka-dera bus stop. From there, it is a short walk to the Niomon Gate.
