Train
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line. Board a train heading towards Kintetsu Nara and get off at Horyu-ji Station. The train journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Horyu-ji Station, follow the signs to the temple which is about a 15-minute walk away. Exit the station and turn left; walk straight until you reach the main road. Cross the road, and continue straight until you see the signs for Horyu-ji.
Bus
From Nara Park, walk to the Nara Bus Terminal. Board the Nara Kotsu Bus bound for Horyu-ji. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the Horyu-ji stop. From there, it's a short walk to the temple. Just follow the signs leading to Horyu-ji, and you will reach the entrance in about 10 minutes.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from various rental shops in Nara. Start your journey from Nara Park and head towards the main road leading out of the city. Follow the signs for Horyu-ji, which is approximately a 40-minute ride. The route is mostly flat and easy to navigate. Once you reach Horyu-ji, there are bike racks available for parking.
