Public Bus
From Kyoto Station, take the bus number 28 towards Arashiyama. The bus ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Get off at the 'Arashiyama' bus stop. Once you arrive, walk straight towards the main street and follow the signs for 'Arashiyama Bamboo Grove.' It will be about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
Train
From Kyoto Station, take the JR San-in Line (also known as JR Sagano Line) towards Saga-Arashiyama Station. The train ride will take around 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Saga-Arashiyama Station, exit the station and follow the signs to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. It is about a 15-minute walk from the station, and you will see signs directing you along the way.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from a rental shop near Kyoto Station. Ride towards the Arashiyama area, which is approximately 10 km away. Follow the riverside path along the Katsura River for a scenic route. Upon reaching Arashiyama, follow the road signs to the Bamboo Forest. This ride will take about 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.
Walking
If you are already in the Arashiyama area, simply head towards the main road (Saganuma-dori) and look for signs directing to the Bamboo Forest. It is located just a short walk from the main attractions in Arashiyama, such as the Iwatayama Monkey Park and the Togetsukyo Bridge, making it an easy and pleasant walk.
