Getting There

Train
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Tōkaidō Line (Shinkansen) towards Nagoya. After about 25 minutes, get off at Omi-Hachiman Station. Once you arrive, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal located just outside the station. Take the bus number 63 or 64 towards Azuchi-cho. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the Azuchi-cho stop. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to the Azuchi Castle Ruins. Follow the signs leading you to the castle ruins.

If you are near the city center, you can take a direct bus to Omi-Hachiman. Look for the bus number 50 or 51, which departs from Kyoto Station. The ride will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Omi-Hachiman, follow the same instructions as above to get to the bus terminal and take bus number 63 or 64 to Azuchi-cho, then walk to the castle ruins.

If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the area, consider renting a bicycle. Start from the Kyoto Station area and cycle towards Omi-Hachiman, which is about 17 km away. Follow the riverside paths for a scenic ride. Once you reach Omi-Hachiman, you can park your bicycle at the station and take a bus (number 63 or 64) to Azuchi-cho. The castle ruins are approximately a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
