Getting There

  • Train

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line towards Nara. Get off at Tofukuji Station (about 5 minutes). Once you exit the station, head east on the main road until you reach the intersection. Turn left and continue walking straight until you reach the next major intersection. Turn right onto the street leading to Jōnangū Shrine, which will be a short walk ahead.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, catch the number 207 bus or the number 75 bus. Ride for about 15-20 minutes and get off at the Jōnangū-mae bus stop. After getting off, walk straight ahead for about 5 minutes, and you will see Jōnangū Shrine on your left. Look for the large torii gate marking the entrance.

  • Walking

    If you are near Fushimi Inari Shrine, Jōnangū Shrine is about a 20-30 minute walk away. From Fushimi Inari, head northeast towards the main road. Continue walking along the road until you reach the Nakajimatobariykucho area. Jōnangū Shrine is located at Nakajimatobarikyucho, 7. Look for the distinctive shrine gates as you approach.
