From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus number 205. Board the bus at the bus terminal located just outside the station. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Myoshin-ji' bus stop. From there, walk approximately 5 minutes to the temple entrance, following the signs along the way.

From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line towards Kokusaikaikan. Ride for 4 stops and get off at 'Kitaoji Station'. From Kitaoji Station, transfer to the Kyoto City Bus number 204. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at 'Myoshin-ji' bus stop. Walk for about 5 minutes to reach the temple.
